Donating stock can be one of the most efficient ways to make a charitable contribution to The Rescue House by saving on potential capital gains taxes. Why donate stock to The Rescue House?
Your stock donation will help us continue our mission of assisting homeless, abandoned, and injured cats. We are a volunteer run organization so our greatest expense and therefore the bulk of your donation goes to basic and emergency health care services for the cats and kittens we rescue. The extent of the health care services provided in each case depends directly on the circumstances each cat brings with him or her. While most cats that come into our organization require only the basic of health care services (spay/neuter, vaccinations, testing, microchip, etc.) before they are ready for adoption, a growing number find themselves in need of specialized and/or emergency care. These special cases can be quite costly, but in most of these instances, The Rescue House is their final hope to be saved.
Steps to Donate:
- Using the widget powered by The Giving Block, choose which stock you’d like to donate and enter the Stock Ticker Symbol.
- Enter the quantity of shares you’d like to donate. The tool will generate an approximate donation value based on the previous day’s closing price.
- Click Donate to enter personal data, then click continue
- Select Delivering Broker Firm and account. Please enter broker contact, email and phone number, if available. If the broker is not listed, please select “other”. If you select “other”, The Giving Block will email further instructions and documentation.
- Provide virtual signature.
- The Giving Block will email a tax receipt once the donation is received and processed.
